Marian Central wrestler Jimmy Mastny won a state wrestling title earlier this year, but the IHSA argues he was improperly recruited by his coach, Jordan Blanton. A trial over the matter began Monday.

The IHSA is recognizing the top 50 volleyball and football programs to help commemorate the 50th year anniversary of both sports state championship games in November.

The Eastland golf invite took place on Saturday with the Fulton boys and Oregon girls coming out on top. Owen VanZuiden earned medalist for Fulton and Sarah Eckardt was medalist for Oregon.

Morrison, Newman, and Rock Falls opened the golf season in a triangular on Thursday as Conner Porter earned medalist for the Rockets.
