Although the state wrestling meet will look a little different this year the area's history of being well represented at the event looks pretty much the same as it always does.

Sage Mardjetko fired a two-hitter, striking out 12 and walking only one, as Lemont’s softball team shut out Ottawa, 2-0, to win the championship of its own Class 3A sectional on Thursday.
Ryan Smith struck out 10 on the mound, and with bold base running scored the eventual game-winning run on Sebastian Gutierrez's single to send Nazareth past Lemont and into Friday's sectional final.
