Sauk Valley athletes won 11 medals in nine different events in Saturday’s finals at the IHSA Girls State Track & Field Meet at O’Brien Field on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.

The Oregon softball team swept West Carroll in a doubleheader Saturday, winning 14-3 and 15-1 in a pair of five-inning wins to improve to 20-8 on the season. Also, the Dixon tennis team won the Hub Invite title in Rochelle.
The Dixon, Rock Falls and Oregon girls track & field teams competed at the Big Northern Conference Meet on Thursday night in Rockford, and the three local teams finished 3-4-5 in the final team standings.
The Sterling softball team defeated Forreston 4-1 on Monday, while Dixon downed Genoa-Kingston 7-4 and Rock Falls topped Rockford Lutheran 10-0. On the baseball diamond, Dixon defeated Rockford Lutheran 12-0, and Rock Falls beat Genoa-Kingston 4-1.
The Dixon baseball team won a wild Big Northern Conference game at home, 22-12 over Rockford Lutheran on Thursday. The Rock Falls baseball team rallied to top Genoa-Kingston 8-6, and the softball Rockets and Duchesses both won run-rule BNC contests.

The Rock Falls baseball team won for the second straight day Tuesday, defeating Oregon 26-0 in four innings in a Big Northern Conference road game. Dixon also won big, downing Byron 17-2 in four innings to improve to 11-1 overall and 9-1 in the BNC.
