Former Kane County Circuit Clerk Thomas Hartwell and a St. Charles man, Robert Gutierrez, were indicted Tuesday in a scheme to misuse pubic funds while Hartwell was in office.

A 17-year-old Algonquin girl – one of five teenagers in a car that crashed on a Saturday night in January – remained hospitalized as of Tuesday, a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said.
