The village of Bonfield will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with parades, tractor pulls and entertainment during its Small Town USA celebration on June 19 and 20.

Communities around the Sauk Valley are gearing up for fireworks shows to celebrate Independence Day and the nation’s 250th birthday.

The City of Lockport will once again host its Old Canal Days summer festival from June 11-14. The drone show will kick off the festival on Thursday night at 10 p.m.

Dixon and the Dixon Petunia Festival will continue a longstanding community partnership with ComEd that will once again allow the annual Petunia Festival fireworks display to take place along the Rock River near downtown Dixon in July.

Fireworks were launched during the Christmas Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 at the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton. The fairgrounds also holds a Home for the Holiday Light Show. The show is a family drive-thru experience featuring light displays and a few special guests to greet you. The show is open Friday's and Saturday's generally runs from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. and on Sunday's 5p.m.-8p.m. through Christmas Day.
