Putnam County scored nine runs in the third inning to break open Tuesday’s 1A regional championship against IV Catholic in McNabb on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Putnam County Junior High rallied to defeat Princeton Logan, 4-3, to capture its own Puma Classic softball tournament in McNabb on Saturday, Sept. 2.
The Panthers finished with a 1-3 tournament record.
Putnam County captured the Class 2A Seneca Regional championship, defeating Ottawa Wallace 25-16, 25-15. The Lady Pumas advanced to sectional play on Mondday at Lexington.
Putnam County-Hall’s Bailey Herr earned a berth to the girls state wrestling tournament berth out of the Geneseo Sectional by placing in the top four on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Putnam County High School Athletics will be having its annual Hall of Fame night as part of the boys basketball game with Lowpoint-Washburn on Friday, Jan. 13.
The Putnam County Junior High softball team finished second in the Lady Puma Classic. They also finished in first place in the regular season in Little Tri-County Conference games going undefeated.
Putnam County senior Connor Brooker has signed to wrestle at the University of Dubuque.

The Putnam County Junior High seventh grade volleyball team captured their first regional volleyball championship, defeating Streator Woodland, 25-15, 25-21 in their own regional, on Monday, March 1.
