The Dixon volleyball team won the opening set, but couldn't keep it up in a nonconference road loss to Princeton on Monday night. In golf action, both the Sterling boys and girls finished fifth at the Western Big 6 Conference Meets, while Sterling's girls tennis and girls swimming teams both won duals.

The Newman volleyball team defeated St. Bede 25-11, 24-26, 25-11 on Tuesday to remain undefeated in Three Rivers East play, while the Rock Falls girls and Newman boys golfers both won meets at home. Sterling boys soccer and girls tennis also picked up home victories.
Makayla Nietzel, 18, was blown away when she got to compete for Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games last week. Nietzel, a 2021 Prairie Ridge graduate, took two sevenths in her swimming events.
Grace Cooper, who won five individual state championships and one relay championship in high school at Oswego East, is set to compete on Thursday in the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. Cooper is competing in the 100-meter freestyle, with preliminaries Thursday morning, and the 50 freestyle, preliminaries in the event Saturday morning.
