After losing the first three matches in Thursday’s dual against Oregon, the Dixon wrestling team was looking to take the momentum. The next four bouts turned the tide, and the Dukes defeated the Hawks 44-18. Dixon also beat Rock Falls 57-13, and Oregon topped the Rockets 52-20.

The Dixon girls basketball team rolled to a nonconference win at home Tuesday night, while the Sterling girls lost at home. The Newman boys went on the road and picked up a Three Rivers East victory, while the Rock Falls wrestlers won a dual at home.
The Oregon girls bowling team took third, and Dixon finished fourth at the Sterling MLK Invite on Monday at Blackhawk Lanes. Host Sterling was seventh, and Erie-Prophetstown placed eighth.
The Fulton boys basketball team handed No. 5 Rockford Christian its first loss to take the Manny's Roundball Classic title in Freeport on Saturday, while the Oregon wrestling team won a title for the second straight weekend by taking the championship in Kewanee.
The Oregon Hawks won their second regional title in program history, and the Sterling Golden Warriors rallied in their final two games to take third at the Dixon Regional on Saturday at Plum Hollow. Both teams advance to next weekend's sectional, as will three Dixon bowlers.
The Sterling boys basketball team led late in overtime on the road Friday night, but Rock Island’s Marcus McQueen Jr. banked in an off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer to win 64-63 win. The Dixon and Rock Falls boys, and Rock Falls girls all won on the road.
