Yorkville, along with Oswego and Montgomery, have joined the DuPage Water Commission and will take part in the pipeline project to bring lake water to the three communities.

The Yorkville City Council voted to approve a purchase agreement for an 8-acre parcel owned by the city for the development of senior housing and commercial real estate.

The chain convenience store and fuel station will open at northeast corner of routes 47 and 71 early in 2025.

The 5-megawatt facility will occupy a 54-acre site on the east side of Cannonball Trail along the north side of the BNSF Railway.

The $3.5 million project includes a water main to connect the well with the treatment plant.

The proposal is part of a larger plan for a Unified Development Ordinance, designed to combine traditional zoning and subdivision regulations along with other city requirements into a single document.
