Chart topping country singer Riley Green has been named as one of the headlining acts at the Sandwich Fair in September.

The 135th Annual Sandwich Fair was held Sept. 6-10, 2023.

Held yearly the Wednesday–Sunday after Labor Day since 1888, the Sandwich Fair is one of the oldest continuing county fairs in the state of Illinois. This was the 135th edition of the fair, which was canceled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Indian Valley Theatre will hold melodrama performances of “The Most Materful Mimic” and “A Trainwreck Waiting to Happen” at the Sandwich Fair.

The Sandwich Fair will host its 30th souvenir sale during the fair’s first day Sept. 6.

Goats, sheep and poultry were showcased by area youth in the DeKalb County 4–H program Friday in Sandwich for the organization’s annual animal project fair, which runs through Sunday.

The J.F. Glidden Homestead and Historical Center will host a program about the history of DeKalb County’s Sandwich Fair by Sandwich Fair Association president Larry Dannewitz.

Indian Valley Theatre once again will perform its Melodramas in person at this year’s Sandwich Fair.

This event will commemorate victims of the attack on America and the U.S. military personnel killed in the war on terrorism.

The 2022 Sandwich Fair, one of the oldest fairs in Illinois getting its start in 1888, kicked off Wednesday morning and will continue through Sunday.

The Indian Valley Theatre will perform the melodramas “Run to the Roundhouse, Nellie” and “Showtime on the Showboat” during the Sandwich Fair in September. The fair runs Sept. 7 through 11.

Exhibits, animals and fair food rank among fair goers' favorite attractions, according to a recent Shaw Local News Network online survey.

Tickets to the pit section for the Adkins concert have sold out and general admission tickets are going fast, a fair official reports.

All proceeds from the Sandwich Fair food building, booth and parking lot support seniors in programs that improve and enrich vital, independent living, to enhance dignity and self-respect, and to encourage participation in community life.

Tickets will be $4 a person or $10 a family, cash or check only for each show.
