The Minooka Police Department announced Wednesday that it issued an additional 15 citations during the holiday enforcement period.

The Grundy County Sheriff's Office said it issued 26 speeding tickets during the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Drive High, Get a DUI" traffic campaigns from Dec. 12 to Jan. 5.

John Fleet, 70, is charged with a class 4 felony under Scott’s Law following the fatal crash on Dec. 23, 2024, which took the life of 35-year-old Illinois State Trooper Clay Carns.

The Coal City Police Department said in a statement on its Facebook page Wednesday that the 800 block of Division Street was closed briefly Wednesday morning to allow the Grundy county REACT team to serve a search warrant.
