Huntley's Gavin Heard won four state championships at the IHSA Boys Swimming and Diving Meet Feb. 26 at FMC Natatorium in Westmont. The Red Raiders senior was voted Northwest Herald Athlete of the Week by readers.
Cary-Grove co-op's Ben Castro captured a fifth-place medal in the 100-yard butterfly and was part of the Trojans' first two relays to place at state. The Crystal Lake Central senior is the 2022 Northwest Herald Boys Swimmer of the Year.
