Families are encouraged to bring their pets for photo opportunities at Clow Stephens Park, 16650 S. Lily Cache Road in Plainfield on Saturday.

The Plainfield Park District had a banner weekend at the recent Illinois Association of Park Districts/Illinois Park & Recreation Association Soaring to New Heights Conference.

The annual Grinchmas on the Green begins at 4 p.m. Saturday with free hot chocolate and cookies underneath the pavilion in Village Green. At 5 p.m., Santa and the Grinch arrive via the fire truck courtesy of the Plainfield Fire Protection District.
