Without some type of influx of transportation staff or another schedule rearrangement allowing fewer drivers to transport more children, McHenry County education officials fear an unmanageable transportation conundrum will arise this winter as more drivers need days off for illness and other reasons.

JB Pritzker, while others are still gathering data and have found teaching staff are more likely to already be inoculated than workers outside classroom settings.
Gov. JB Pritzker earlier this month signed into law a measure that allows students to take up to five mental health days during school year. The new law goes into effect Jan. 1, 2022.
Some McHenry County area school officials said they hope the vaccine mandate will be one more step in ensuring students stay in in-person schooling this year.
