Principal and assistant principal conducted investigation, called in Dixon police who acted very fast without having to interrup the school day.
Dixon police took possession of a loaded handgun in a male student’s vehicle Monday while it was parked on school property, police said. Administrators at Dixon High School contacted police shortly after noon on Monday.
Henry Huenefeld, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according an Ogle County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Deputies responding about 1 a.m. Saturday morning discovered that the vehicle had hit a tree and rolled over in the ditch on the east side of the road.

Deputies reported they arrived at about 5 a.m. at the scene of the crash, which was along Spring Hill Road near the intersection of Lynch Road in rural Prophetstown.
A Kirkland woman died after driving through a stop sign and crashing into a semi-truck on Illinois Route 64 north of Rochelle.
