The Grundy County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday that it has arrested a 17-year-old who had allegedly stolen a firearm in Peru after a pursuit that ended near Arby's on Route 6 in Morris.

A driver led the Channahon and Wilmington police on a chase early Thursday morning before abandoning the vehicle, leading the police to issue a shelter-in-place order for the area around Sunset Drive near Galloway School.

The Morris Police Department announced Thursday that officers were called to a fight in the 200 block of Waverly Street, where witnesses said an 18-year-old woman had been stabbed.

A 44-year-old Morris man is being charged with three counts of first degree murder in the death of his mother in August 2024.
