Nazareth, St. Francis and Fenwick are three notable Week 2 winners primed for big matchups in the CCL/ESCC this coming weekend.

We take a look at the football games around the Kane County Chronicle area heading into Week 2 of the 2025 season.

St. Charles North has made it a habit of winning Week 1 in some thrilling ways, and it made no exception with a 36-35 victory over Minooka. Plus, some stellar varsity debuts from new quarterbacks at St. Francis and Geneva, and Batavia being in unfamiliar territory.

St. Francis senior quarterback Brock Phillip, who led two touchdown drives in the final seven minutes to rally his team to a 38-34 win over Kenwood and threw for 346 yards and four TDs, and ran for a fifth score, is the Week 1 Friday Night Drive Team of the Week MVP.
