A year after two brothers were fatally shot at an early New Year’s Day gathering in a residence on Kankakee’s eastside, Kankakee police investigators have been unable to make an arrest.

An investigation into shots fired in the 700 block of North Park Avenue led to the arrest of a Kankakee man by Kankakee police Monday.

Kankakee police said a homicide at a Kankakee apartment on the city’s east side Sunday occurred during an attempted forced entry.
