Joliet Public Schools District 86 will host open houses for Hufford and Gompers Junior Highs on Saturday before the old school buildings are demolished.

Dr. Paul Schrik has led Troy 30-C schools, which serve students from portions of Joliet, Shorewood, Channahon, Crest Hill, and unincorporated Troy Township, for eight years.

Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201 officials are in the process of embarking on a once-in-a-decade review of capital improvement projects at each of the seven buildings.

Lockport Township High School District 205 has approved a rough timetable for improvements at both its campuses over the next decade. “There were a zillion ideas that didn’t make the list,” Superintendent Dr. Robert McBride said.

Minooka Community High School District 111 officials have pledged their support for an economic development project in Will County that is being touted as bringing 2,500 jobs to the immediate region.

Both will start their new roles for the 2026-27 District 202 school year on July 1.

The event will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Drive in Bolingbrook.
