The IHSA boys and girls golf state tournaments tee off Friday morning, with a handful of McHenry County area golfers competing at courses in Bloomington, Normal and Decatur.

Jacobs junior Natalie Zimmerman fired an 82 and took runner-up at the Fox Valley Conference Tournament, leading the Golden Eagles to their first conference championship. Zimmerman is the Northwest Herald Athlete of the Week.

Jacobs' girls golf team won its first Fox Valley Conference championship in program history, while Crystal Lake Central co-op's Rylee Rud earned medalist honors at Wednesday's conference tournament at Crystal Woods in Woodstock.
