Man identified in fatal crash with Batavia school bus

Police on Wednesday identified the man who was killed Tuesday afternoon after his car hit a school bus head-on near Rotolo Middle School in Batavia.

Adam Knisley, 33, of Aurora, was killed in the crash, which happened at 3:13 p.m. as a full-size International Navistar school bus carrying 39 middle school age students had just left Rotolo Middle School. According to a news release from the Batavia Police Department, Knisley was driving a 2007 Infinity 2-door couple south on Hart Road when it appears he crossed over the center of the roadway and hit the school bus, which was going north on Hart Road.

Several minor injuries were reported by passengers on the bus, according to police. Thirty-eight students were released without further treatment, the release stated.

One student passenger reporting minor injuries was transported to an area hospital by Batavia medics. The school bus driver was not injured, according to the release.

The roadway was cleared and reopened to traffic at 6:57 p.m.
