High school sports roundup for Monday, May 3

McKenna Ryan and Grace Algrim combined on a four-inning no-hitter Monday as Kaneland defeated host Plano, 18-0, in Interstate Eight Conference softball action.

Ryan pitched three innings, striking out four, while Algrim fanned two batters in her lone frame.

Olivia Ortegel led the Knights offensively, going 2 for 4 with a homer and five RBIs. Rose Roach had a triple and double for Kaneland. Delaney Douglas and Emily Olp also doubled.

Morris 8, Sycamore 6: At Sycamore, the Spartans dropped the ICE game.

Paige Collie was 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs for Sycamore. Haley Von Schnase went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Tia Durst and Emily Puentes each had a hit and an RBI.

Waubonsie Valley 6, DeKalb 0: At Waubonsie Valley, Jack Keck had two hits for the Barbs in their DuPage Valley Conference loss.

Newark 11, Hinckley-Big Rock 0: At Hinckley-Big Rock, Riley Hogan had the only hit for the Royals in their six-inning, Little Ten Conference loss.

West Aurora 6, DeKalb 0: At West Aurora, the Barb dropped all six matches in straight sets as their record fall to 2-6 overall.

GIRLS SOCCER
