Katlyn Schraeder doubled in the go-ahead runs in the fourth inning, and Yorkville went on to a 5-1 win over Kaneland in a game called because of rain after five innings and in the process matched a program record with the Foxes' 26th win.
The DeKalb girls track team qualified both of its relay teams on Friday for the finals of the Class 3A Championships in Charleston. The finals in all three classes will be held Saturday. Kaneland and Sycamore each had an entry qualify for the 2A finals.
Addie McLaughlin made a great catch in center that she turned into a double play for Sycamore against DeKalb on Friday. Then the next time she came to the plate she drove in two of Sycamore's nine fourth-inning runs in an 11-0 win for the Spartans.
St. Charles North senior sprinter Josh Duncan bested his own 100-meter dash state top time and Wheaton Warrenville South's Reece Young ran the second-fastes time, while Batavia dominated as a team to capture the Class 3A St. Charles North Sectional title.
