The annual Rotary Rocks Raue Center fundraiser will feature “Fleetwood Max: The Definitive Fleetwood Mac Tribute” this November.

The Halloween event is Oct. 14 and 21 at West Main Community Park. Volunteers are also needed for tours, makeup and scary characters.

Bethany Lutheran Church of Crystal Lake will feature Chicago jazz artist Christy Bennett for a performance of her Forgotten Songwriters program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at its 76 W. Crystal Lake Ave. location.

The Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal Lake will host a free masterclass from two veteran Broadway actors from Lyric Opera of Chicago’s “Fiddler on the Roof” this Monday.

Twenty dachshunds will race during the inaugural Dachshund Derby this Saturday in Island Lake. The event is part of the village’s Oktoberfest, which is in its third year and runs Friday and Saturday.

Set for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17, at Petersen Park, 4300 Petersen Park Road, Splash Into Country is expected to raise upwards of $300,000 for McHenry's Miller Point and Riverwalk projects.

Paramount Theatre invites everyone to meet Effie, Lorrell and Deena, three talented young Black singers in the turbulent 1960s, whose rise to the top will test their friendships to the very limit. The musical opens with previews Aug. 31.

The fest will feature a new carnival amusement company, Windy City Amusements. In addition, the popular Car Show moves to Saturday from Sunday, offering a later start to the show for visitor convenience from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Award-winning blues guitarist Hector Anchondo will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Raue Center’s outdoor series Arts on the Green at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Crystal Lake.
