Letter: The forgotten war

Sauk Valley Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

It seems the news media and others have forgotten about how many lives were lost, wounded and changed in a place called Korea.

Today, when they mention wars, they named World War II, Vietnam, Iraq and other places, but not Korea. When we returned home, we had no support groups to help us find jobs.

In the beginning, we could not join veterans groups because it was called a police action.

That later changed after it was called the Korean War. It seems Korea has become the forgotten war.

Thank goodness for the support groups the returning veterans have today.
