Oregon man, 63, charged with sexual assault of a child

OREGON – An Oregon man is being held on $250,000 bond, accused of sexually assaulting child younger than 13.

Michael Lee Pearce, 63, was arrested Tuesday and taken to Ogle County jail.

He is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, punishable by at least 6 to 60 years in prison, of which 85% of the sentence must be served, and also with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, punishable by 3 to 7 years.

Oregon police began the investigation in September, Chief Shawn Melville said this morning.
