Construction on a section of Illinois Route 2 in Sterling will begin on Monday, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.
Work will patch pavement from Lynn Boulevard to Prairieview Road. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction and some short-term side road closures will be needed.
Access to businesses and residences will be open during the project, which is expected to be completed by June.
