ROCK FALLS – Construction on the bridge carrying Route 30 over the Union Pacific Railroad and Harvey Road west of Rock Falls begins Monday, weather permitting, the state Department of Transportation said in a news release.
Work will involve replacing the bridge expansion joints and installing a concrete deck overlay. One lane of traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic signals and a barrier wall during the project, which is expected to be completed by August.
Motorists can expect delays and should use alternate routes when feasible.
