Sports Roundup: Roby just misses double-double in Thunder’s loss to Wizards

Dixon native Isaiah Roby scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench in Oklahoma City’s 129-109 loss to the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

Roby also had two assists, two steals and a blocked shot in 29 minutes, shooting 8-for-16 from the field, including 1-for-4 from 3-point range, and making his only free throw.

The Thunder (20-40) trailed just 70-68 at halftime, but were outscored 59-41 in the second half.

OKC is back in action Monday in Philadelphia against the 76ers at 6 p.m.

Softball

Oregon 9, Harvard 3: The Hawks scored seven runs in the top of the seventh to rally for a nonconference road win.

Lena Trampel had three hits, and she also struck out nine in five innings in the circle for Oregon. Ava Hackman had two strikeouts in the final two innings of relief.

Baseball

Bureau Valley 6, Morrison 1: Payton Dye went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Storm to a Three Rivers Conference victory at the Lumber Kings Stadium in Clinton, Iowa.

Dye also earned the win on the mound, allowing one unearned run on one hit with seven strikeouts and two walks in 4 1/3 innings.

Sam Rouse went 2-for-4 and scored a pair of runs for BV (2-1).

Boys track & field

Storm fare well in Spring Valley: Bureau Valley finished second behind Erie-Prophetstown in a triangular at Hall High School, led by three relay victories.

BV’s foursome of Davey Dietz, Eli Attig, Ben Roth and Elijah House won both the 4x800 and the 4x400, and the quartet of Drew Spencer, Brady Higgins, Noah Harris and Nevin Bolin won the 4x100.

Individual winners for the Storm were Attig in the discus, Higgins in the shot put, Drew Spencer in the 100 meters, and House in the 1,600.
