MORRISON — Resthave Care and Rehabilitation received the Excellence Award for long-term care centers from the Illinois Health Care Association.
In addition, Jill Smith was named administrator of the year. Smith has been in that role at Resthave for five years. “I am surrounded by the best board of directors, staff, residents and community. I could not do what I do every day without them. It is a privilege to serve in this role,” Smith said.
The awards were presented during the opening session of the association’s annual convention in Springfield on Sept. 14.
Resthave also was recognized as a 50-year member of IHCA.
Resthave Care & Rehabilitation is a not-for-profit home that was founded in 1961. The nursing center, located at 408 Maple Ave. in Morrison, provides residents with physical, occupational and speech therapies, wound care, pain management, respite care and hospice care.
A drive-through dinner in recognition of the awards will be 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 14.
The facility also announced its court for homecoming. Marvin Heun was selected king and Sondra Horn queen for assisted living. Doc Venema was king and Carol Macke was queen of nursing area. The court took part in the Morrison Homecoming parade.
