Marmion overcame rival Montini to repeat as the IHSA Class 3A state champion on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, as St. Charles East battled to claim third place over Oak Park-River Forest.

In the final showpiece of the wrestling season, Marmion lifted its second consecutive Class 3A dual-team championship trophy Saturday night at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, scoring the last 21 points to top Montini 36-22. St. Charles East was third.

Led by a fourth-place finish from Vinnie Testa, Marmion had four wrestlers make their ways into the early medal rounds to secure All-State honors at the IHSA boys wrestling individual state meet.

Batavia sophomore Kai Enos, who won the 120-pound title at the Class 2A Geneseo boys wrestling sectional and qualified for the state meet, is the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week

When the boys wrestling state meet begins, 22 Kane County-area wrestlers will be aiming to win a state title. But for St. Charles East's Dom Munaretto and Marmion's Nicholas Garcia, it'll be a chance to make history and become a three-time individual champion.
