St. Charles North‘s boys lacrosse team clinched a share of second place in the DuKane Conference after outlasting Geneva 13-11 in a back-and forth match Friday at Burgess Field in Geneva.

Lake Park had four wins, three of which came in field events, to help secure its first outdoor DuKane Conference title in school history. St. Charles North had six wins to secure second-place, while Darin Ashiru collected three wins to help Batavia to third.

The Sycamore girls won the Class 2A Genoa-Kingston Sectional on Friday, claiming a conference and sectional crown in the same season for the 1st time in school history. Sandwich's Sunny Weber dominated the distance races, Peyton Heywood pulled of an upset in the high jump.

Jake Gillette homered, and Dundee-Crown's baseball team pounded out 15 hits in an 11-8 win over Burlington Central in a Fox Valley Conference finale Friday.

Sycamore, Kaneland, Genoa-Kingston, Sandwich, St. Viator, Plano, Crystal Lake South, Dixon, Rochelle, and Carmel are among the teams that took part in the Class 2A girls track sectional Friday at Genoa-kingston High School.

Jillian Booth had wins in three events and qualified for the Class 3A state meet in four to help lead York to the sectional title at the Wheaton-Warrenville South girls track and field sectional. Geneva took second and Batavia a close third.

With Kara Glenn and the 4x800 pacing the way, St. Charles North's girls track and field team won a sectional title for the second year in a row with 144 points. St. Charles East was second with 95 points, followed by Lake Park’s 74.

Jumper Kyle Brents and sprinter Oreoluwa Sobodu each won two individual events, leading Dundee-Crown's boys track and field team to its first Fox Valley Conference title in 25 years.
