The Interstate 8 named three girls soccer MVPs: Kaneland's Erin Doucette, Ottawa's Chloe Carmona and Sycamore's Izzie Segreti. Co-champs Sycamore and Kaneland each had five all-conference selections, Ottawa had three, La Salle-Peru and Morris had two and Rochelle had one.

St. Francis junior forward Ashley Klein missed the last couple weeks of the regular season while recovering from a concussion – but returned just in time for the playoffs. Klein's goal in the second overtime sent St. Francis past Elmwood Park 1-0 in a Class 2A supersectional.

Dayami Arias scored the go-ahead goal in the 59th minute to lead Wheaton-Warrenville South to a 2-0 victory over host St. Charles East for its second consecutive sectional title.

Averie Foulkes scored the game-winning goal in the 90th minute to lead St. Charles East to a 2-1 victory over St. Charles North, while Wheaton-Warrenville South scored four second-half goals for a 5-0 victory over Glenbard West.

Five different Geneva girls soccer players scored in the Vikings’ 6-0 win over Ottawa on Tuesday in a Class 2A Orion Sectional Semifinals. The goals came from mostly different sources, but half of them originated from Bridget Burke.

St. Charles East sophomore Mya Leon continued to extend her school record for goals in a season as she earned a hat trick to lead the Saints to a 5-1 victory over Bartlett to win the Class 3A St. Charles East Regional. Geneva and St. Charles North also won regional titles.
