St. Charles East senior Kelsey Jacob, who won the No. 1 singles bracket at the DuKane Conference Championships, was voted as the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week.
After going 35-8 and making it to the fifth round of the Class 2A doubles state bracket, St. Charles North's doubles team of Shannon Lu and Danielle Dejanovich are the Kane County Chronicle girls tennis Players of the Year. Plus, the All-Area team.
Shannon Lu became just the fourth player in St. Charles North history with 100 career victories after winning her match against St. Charles East. Lu was selected as the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week in an online vote.

Marmion took down St. Charles East in the first game of the St. Charles Boys Soccer Tournament, while Aurora Central Catholic's boys cross country team won the team title and Rosary's Chiara Surtz won the girls race at the Aurora City Invitational.

Wheaton Warrenville South’s Brooke Ittersagen beat Batavia’s Dhruthi Daggubati in a marathon No. 1 singles championship match, while Batavia won its fourth consecutive team title at the DuKane Conference tennis meet on Saturday.
One of the most decorated doubles duos – and individuals – in Batavia program history, seniors Bella Lins and Leah Puttin are 2021 Kane County Chronicle co-Tennis Players of the Year.
The Batavia doubles tennis team of Bella Lins and Leah Puttin rallied to win the doubles title at the Class 2A St. Charles East Sectional on Saturday, helping lead Batavia's team to the sectional championship. Runner-up St. Charles North and third-place St. Charles East also qualified individuals for state.
Batavia won the No. 2 and No. 4 doubles titles and placed third in the other five divisions to win its third straight DuKane Conference tennis championship.
Batavia junior tennis player Dhruthi Daggubati, who won the No. 1 singles title at the Jacobs Invite last week, is the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week sponsored by Don McCue Chevrolet in St. Charles.
Joined together by necessity last year when injuries hit the St. Francis tennis team, Maddie Hoden and Elen Ryson have proved a perfect fit. The two juniors, second at sectionals last season, are 7-3 and undefeated in conference matches.
Leah Puttin teamed up with Kelly Thoman to win the No. 1 doubles championship, and Batavia edged Benet to win St. Charles East's Mary Carlson Invitational on Saturday.
