Two 17-year-olds were arrested after they stole a tip jar from Rosati’s Pizza in Bolingbrook, police said.

About 7:30 p.m. Friday, officers were sent to the Rosati’s Pizza at 329 N. Schmidt Road in response to a report of a “theft of the tip jar off the sales counter,” police said.

“The two 17-year old-juvenile offenders grabbed the tip jar and ran from the business. Officers were provided a direction of travel and a description of the offenders,” police said.

Officers located the two teens in the area of Lyons and Appling roads, about 1,200 yards from the Rosati’s.

“They were taken into custody without incident and proceeds from the theft were recovered,” police said.

One of the juveniles had an unrelated arrest warrant and was taken to River Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Joliet, police said.

The other juvenile was charged with a theft from the NAPA Auto Parts at 207 S. Bolingbrook Drive, police said.

About 9:30 a.m. on April 21, the juvenile “entered the store and stole the cash register drawer,” police said.

“The subject will be petitioned into juvenile court,” police said.
