Lockport picked up a home win its girls volleyball season opener Tuesday, taking down Lemont, 25-23, 25-16.
Grace Juergens had seven kills in the victory, Lindsay Oldendorf added four kills and Cam DeBlecourt set up nine assists.
Lincoln-Way Central 2, Plainfield East 1: At New Lenox, the Knights were able to fend off the visiting Bengals in a 25-21, 20-25, 25-23 victory.
Mia Mattingly had six kills and a block in the win as LWC improved to 2-0 on the season. Alyssa Teske added five kills, five assists and four digs, Corissa Bradley had eight assists, two digs and an ace and Madelyn Freiberg had 13 digs.
Seneca 2, Hall 0: At Spring Valley, the Irish kicked off their season with a road win by taking down Hall, 25-16, 25-21.
Gardner-South Wilmington 2, Reed-Custer 0: At Braidwood, the Panthers earned a road win over the Comets, 25-17, 25-23.
Bolingbrook 2, Joliet West 0: At Bolingbrook, the Raiders started their season with a win by taking down the Tigers, 25-10, 25-20.
Madison Shroba led the way with seven kills, Cydney Anderson had six kills, and Olivia Vaughn added 12 assists in the victory.
BOYS SOCCER
Minooka 3, Bradley-Bourbonnais 0: At Bradley, Zac Monnett, Tyler Colwell and Yirga Boeringa each delivered a goal for Minooka in a victory to open the season.
Evan Felgenhauer had one assist, Cade Ooms made three saves at keeper and Ethan Kimbarovsky had two saves.
GIRLS GOLF
Joliet 170, Minooka 178: At Heritage Bluffs, Joliet maintained its unbeaten record with a win over Minooka.
Jamie Daniels was the medalist for Joliet in the victory with a round of 39, while Katelyn Bucciarelli was tops for Minooka with a 42. Joliet improved to 4-0 with the win, while Minooka dropped to 3-1.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Lincoln-Way Central 141, Homewood-Flossmoor 33: At Homewood, the Knights started their season in dominant fashion with a blowout win over the Vikings.
LWC won all 12 events and was led by seniors Emma Gree and Abby Hawksworth.
