A fire damaged a Joliet Township residence and caused minor injuries to two people who were there at the time of the incident.
At 6 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to a “structure fire” in the zero to 100 block of Remin Lane in Joliet Township within five minutes of an emergency call, according to a statement from Joliet Fire Battalion Chief James Ryan.
Firefighters found “heavy fire” from three sides of the structure, Ryan said.
“Residents were asleep at the time of the fire and [were] able to evacuate the structure prior to fire department arrival,” Ryan said.
The scene was declared under control at 9:30 a.m., Ryan said.
Two people suffered minor injuries in the incident, and they have been released from the hospital, Ryan said. He said there were no children at the residence.
