DIXON – The Lee County Health Department is pausing its weekly COVID-19 reporting in the wake of low cases and widely available at-home testing.
With home tests being done, many of which are not reported, the new case count is not accurate, and data is available elsewhere, health administrator Cathy Ferguson-Allen said. The county had 35 cases from Feb. 22 to Monday.
County coronavirus data can be found with the Illinois Department of Public Health at dph.illinois.gov or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at cdc.gov
Ferguson-Allen said the department will likely post regular updates again if there’s a significant surge in cases.
