Dixon Public Schools change laptop log-on for second quarter

DIXON – Dixon Public Schools officials announced Friday they had updated the log-in process for the district’s Chromebook users. The district made the switch so it coincides with the start of the second grading quarter, which started Monday.

Enhancements by Clever, the district’s digital learning platform, and Google both necessitated the change, district school officials said.

Students in Grades K through 3 can use their Chromebooks to scan in their Clever identification badges, which have a simplified QR code. Once the badge is seen by the laptop’s camera, they should be able to gain access.

The log-on prompt for users in Grades 4 through 12 has changed to now asking the user to sign in with a different account. Students will enter their school email, and the password will be “Duke” followed by an individual’s assigned Lumen ID number.
