Hall baseball bounced back from a season-opening loss and handed Streator a season-starting loss of its own Tuesday ay Kirby Park, 8-1.

The St. Bede baseball team and Henry-Senachwine softball team opened their seasons with wins and more baseball, softball and track results in Tuesday's NewsTribune roundup.

Jack Brady was a record-setting quarterback for St. Bede, graduating in 2015. For nine years, he served on Jim Eustice’s staff, taking over as offensive coordinator. This fall, he will move into a more prominent role as the Bruins head coach.

St. Bede has hired Nicole Trenka as its next volleyball coach. Trenka played Division I volleyball at St. Mary's College of California, has coached club volleyball and served as an assistant at La Salle-Peru.

The IHSA announced three significant changes to its classification policy Tuesday. Starting next school year, the IHSA will go back to using fixed classification cutoffs, change its multiplier waiver process and adjust its “Success Adjustment Policy.”

Jack Brady, a St. Bede alumnus and assistant coach, has been promoted to head football coach at St. Bede. He succeeds Jim Eustice, who resigned to take job at Mendota. Nicole Trenka was hired as the St. Bede varsity volleyball coach this fall. She follows Kaitlyn Edgecomb.

The Putnam County baseball team opened the season with a 6-5 win over Hall on Monday in Granville.
