An Illinois National Guard staff sergeant from South Elgin has been charged in Will County with official misconduct by looking up someone’s license plate for no “official purpose.”

After about four hours of deliberating, a McHenry County jury found an Elgin man guilty of drug-induced homicide in the fentanyl overdose of a man at a Marengo motel.
