A Carpentersville police officer fatally shot a person seen shooting at a person outside a restaurant early Saturday morning in Carpentersville, officials report.

The Kane County Office of Emergency Management and partnering agencies will be conducting a training exercise in Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve in Elgin Saturday and Sunday, June 6 and 7.
