Minooka defeated Timothy Christian 22-25, 25-17, 25-23 to win the championship of the Marmion Tournament Saturday.

Batavia baseball secured a series victory over St. Charles East, while Geneva and St. Charles North both won to secure a share of the lead in DuKane Conference play.

Kaneland junior Erin Doucette gave Kaneland a 2-1 lead with her record-setting 34th goal of the season with 13 minutes left, and Batavia junior Emma Wecker tied the game again with nine minutes remaining in a 2-2 thriller.

Despite only managing two wins on the day, St. Charles North surpassed expectations to win it's first-ever Kane County Meet championship, while five meet records were broken across the board at the 106th event, the most since 1977.

The Sycamore girls track and field team won the final three events at Friday's Interstate 8 Conference meet to claim the title over runner-up Morris and third-place Kaneland at Morris High School.

St. Charles East junior Hayden Sujack, who went 14 for 26 with eight home runs and 18 RBIs across eight softball games and also broke the school record for home runs in a career, was voted as the Kane County Chronicle Athlete of the Week.
