PERU — The Women’s Health Care Center at Illinois Valley Community Hospital has added a new obstetrician/gynecologist and a new certified nurse midwife to its staff.
The new OB/GYN is Kemoria Granberry, DO, who came to IVCH after completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. She obtained her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Ga.
Before entering medical school, Granberry worked for three years as a middle school science teacher at San Miguel School in Chicago after graduating with honors in biological sciences from North Park University in Chicago.
While at San Miguel, she worked with community health centers to provide local people with basic health screens.
Granberry joins a WHCC physician team that also includes OB/GYNs Shyrlena Bogard, MD, and Jeffrey Edwards, MD.
The new midwife at IVCH is Barbara Tieman, who had been working for the KSB Medical Group in Dixon. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing and is a family nurse practitioner as well as a certified nurse midwife. Other midwives at IVCH are Pam Koehler, Angela Reidner and Dana Hoffman.
