July 4

At 12:55 a.m., deputies responded to the 10000 block of North Pecatonica Road for a one-vehicle accident. When deputies arrived they located an unoccupied Blue Ford Focus in the east ditch with damage to the front. On July 6, deputies were contacted by the owner and driver of the Ford, Sondra Heffran, 32, Leaf River.

Heffran was subsequently charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug equipment, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to report an accident to Police and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Heffran was booked and released through the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court at a later date.

July 5

Shelby Crossen, 51, Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Crossen’s full cash bond was set at $287 pending a court appearance.

Keegan Akers, 20, Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant on a motion to increase bond. Akers posted $2,500 as a full cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.

Chet Harrolle, 34, Oregon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Harrolle’s full cash bond was set at $807 pending a court appearance.

July 6

At approximately 12:04 p.m., deputies responded to the 8000 block of Kishwaukee Road in reference to a possible violation of an order of protection. After an investigation, Michael Shaw, 47, Stillman Valley, was arrested for violation of an order of protection. Shaw was transported to the Ogle County jail where he was held in lieu of bond pending a July 6 court appearance.

At 9:47 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 12,500 block of North Baileyville Road, on a 2000 Ford Van that was reported stolen from an address in Lanark.

After a short investigation, Jessica McHugh, 28, Lanark, was arrested for unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug equipment, unlawful possession of hypodermic needles, and driving under the influence of drugs.

McHugh was also given citations for improper lane usage and failure to show driver’s license. She was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Deputies responded to an accident with injuries in the 16,000 block of East Ill. 72.

Juan M. Sanchez, 53, Chicago, was traveling west in his white 2003 Mack semi when the right tires left the roadway and entered onto the soft shoulder.

Sanchez attempted to drive the semi back onto the roadway and over corrected. He lost control of the semi and it overturned and struck a utility pole.

Sanchez was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Monroe Center ambulance due to non life threatening injuries.

Ryan M. Scudder, 31,f Byron, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Scudder posted $1,854 as a purge bond and was released with no further court date needed.

Tyrone G. Rogers, 30, Genoa, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for driving while under the influence, failure to appear, and two violations of bond warrants. His total bond amount was set at $7,481 pending a July 8 court appearance.

Michael Shaw, 47, homeless, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear and violation of an order of protection. His bond was set at $815 pending a July 8 court appearance.

Xzavier D. Parker, 24, Morrisonville, Wisconsin, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. His bond was reduced to $300 pending a July 8 court appearance.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Seminary Street and Emily Street in Mt. Morris. After an investigation, Kimberly Dial, 49, Mt. Morris, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of cannabis between 10-30 grams.

Dial was also issued a citation for improper lane usage. Dial was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

July 7

At approximately 1:21 a.m., deputies responded to121 1/2 S. Fourth St., Oregon, in reference to a domestic battery which had occurred earlier in the night at the White Pines State Park campground. After investigation, deputies went to White Pines State Park and arrested John Hitchcock, 33, Oregon for domestic battery. Hitchcock was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 5:27 p.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of Mulford Road and Ill. 38. Upon completing an investigation, it was determined that Marcus C Stroud, 23, Kingston, was southbound on Mulford Road in a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer when he failed to yield to a vehicle stopping in front of him.

Stroud rear-ended a 2003 Chevy Blazer driven by Tyler A.N. Schumacher, 18, Dixon. No injuries were reported. Stroud was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Stroud was taken into custody for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 6:57 p.m., deputies and personnel from the Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on Baseline Road near East Line Road. An investigation determined that a westbound vehicle driven by Ronald Weis, 67, Rockford, skidded off the south side of the road and overturned. Weis and his wife Wiltrud Weis, 70, were transported by LSR Ambulance to Swedish American Hospital for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Christopher Elswick, 26, Oregon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for petition to revoke. Elswick posted 10 percent of the $3,000 full cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 5.

William J. Kelley, 35, Creve Coeur, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for motion to increase bail. Kelley’s bond was set at $25,000 pending a court appearance on July 8.

July 8

At approximately 2:15 p.m., deputies performed a traffic stop at the entrance to Lake Ladonna in the 1000 block of South Harmony Road. After an investigation, Douglas Knautz, 31, West Frankfort, was arrested for no valid driver’s license. Knautz was also issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Knautz was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a silver Jeep Cherokee in the 100 block of N. Sixth 6th St., Oregon. The stop was initiated due to the vehicle having an expired registration.

As a result of the stop the registered owner, Gretchen L. Warmolts, 69, Oregon, was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration. Warmolts was also found to have an expired driver’s license. She was issued a citation for driving without a license and given an I- Bond on the scene and is scheduled for a court appearance on Aug. 3.

Dillon Singley, 23, Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Singley posted $206 full cash for bond and was released with no further court date.

Daniel Stickler, 19, Byron, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Stickler’s full cash bond was set at $1,136 pending a court appearance.

Rebecca DuFoe, 43, Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. DuFoe was given a $1,000 recognizance bond pending a July 13 court appearance.

Brett Hollewell, 26, Oregon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for petition to revoke. Hollewell posted 10 percent of a $3,000 full cash bond and will appear in court on Aug. 8.

George Schneider, 23, Elgin, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear and petition to revoke. Schneider’s full cash bond was set at $4,821 pending a July 11 court appearance.

Derek Lee, 46, Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for disorderly conduct. Lee’s full cash bond was set at $3,000 pending a July 11 court appearance.

July 9

At approximately 12:21 a.m., deputies, along with the Byron Fire Department, responded to the 11000 block of North Kennedy Hill Road in reference to a single vehicle accident.

An investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle, Sean D. Winsel, 22, Winnebago, had swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle entered a ditch at which point the vehicle struck a bank of a driveway and rolled over. Winsel and his passenger, Adrianna M Hansen, 23, Winnebago, both refused any medical treatment.

Winsel was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating a vehicle with no insurance. Dan’s wrecker service removed the vehicle from the location.

Kevin Nelson, 34, Davis Junction, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to report an accident. Nelson’s bond was set at $3,000 pending a July 29 court appearance.

Matthew Markel, 36, Thompson, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Markel posted 10 percent of a $5,000 full cash bond and is scheduled for an Aug. 5 court appearance.

July 10

At approximately 3:25 p.m., deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Pines Road and Lowell Park Road. After further investigation Antwon Woodson, 23, Polo, was arrested for driving while license is suspended. Woodson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he posted bond.

Scott Grogan, 59, Mt. Morris, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Grogan’s full cash bond was set at $466 pending a July 11 court appearance.

Israel Lopez, 52, Sterling, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for motion to increase or alter conditions of his bail. Lopez’ s bond was set at $25,000 pending a July 11 court appearance.

July 11

At 12:15 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in rural Byron for the report of a disturbance. Following an investigation, Peter J. Maslin, 41, Byron, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Maslin was taken to the Ogle County Jail.

Dalton Haenitsch, 21, Polo was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Haenitsch posted the $395 purge bond and was released with no further court date needed.

Jennifer A McKiness, 37, Mt. Morris, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for contempt of court. McKiness did not post the $375 purge bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail pending a July 12 court appearance.
