YSB appoints new executive director

Frank Vonch has been appointed as the new executive director at Youth Service Bureau. He will begin his new role July 1.

Vonch, currently director of child welfare for YSB, the largest program with the largest number of employees within the agency, was also the former executive director of Catholic Charities for the Rockford Diocese for five years.

A graduate of Lewis University and the University of Illinois, Vonch brings with him 27 years of experience. After graduating with a master’s in social work, he worked as a social worker for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in Ottawa for five years in the state’s investigative and follow-up unit. His move to become the area director for Catholic Charities took him from Ottawa to Aurora, and from there, he became executive director where he worked in Rockford.

“I am honored to accept this position, and I look forward to continuing the mission of YSB, providing services to children and families in their local communities. Currently, challenges in social services exist, but YSB has a long tradition of meeting the needs of children and families. Additionally, the strong, dedication of the YSB staff bodes well for the future,” said Vonch.

Frank and his wife, Cheryl, a mathematics teacher at Aurora East High School, have lived in Minooka since 1986 and have two adult children, Jeffrey in Washington, D.C., and Christine in Chicago.
