St. Charles resident Angela Ciran, 35, was at her garage sale when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.
Where did you grow up? My dad was in the military, so I was born in Grove City, Pa., only there for six months, and we moved to Syracuse and Rome, N.Y., then to Bitburg Air Base in Germany. My dad retired to Colorado and I went to Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Colo., and then moved out here and have been here ever since.
Pets? A German shepherd named Lana and a snapping turtle name, Jim.
Who would play you in the movie of your life? Meg Ryan.
First job? A bus girl and I made milkshakes at the Gunther Toody's restaurant in Colorado, where we dressed up like Elvis.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a gymnast. I never told anybody that. I did not become a gymnast. I have four kids. I am a mom.
A movie you'd recommend? "When Harry Met Sally."
Guilty pleasure? Kit Kats. I put them in the fridge, and then I eat them when all my kids go to bed.
Favorite charity? My uncle does Make-A-Wish Foundation, so I support that.
Hobbies? I do oil paintings.
Favorite local restaurant? I haven't been there yet, but I smell it every time I go by – Zaza's in St. Charles.
What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I met Dennis Rodman in Newport Beach, Calif., at a party at his house. This was in 1999. His hair was rainbow. He had a juke box going, no hip-hop. He had hotdogs and Miller Lite in his fridge.
