As of late Tuesday, Illinois had 1,487 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. Of those, 152 were in intensive care units and 51 were on ventilators.
Illinois is now averaging five COVID-19 deaths per day over the past week. That rolling seven-day average has only been lower on a total of two days since April 2020.
Illinois is averaging 129 new COVID-19 hospitalizations per day over the past week, down from 142 per day from Friday's IDPH update
