An autopsy revealed that a man died from multiple injuries that he suffered in a motorcycle crash in Naperville.
The single-vehicle crash occurred Saturday and remains under investigation by the Naperville Police Department.
Jaelen Andre Morain, 27, of Aurora, was a passenger on a motorcycle that left a roadway, the Will County Coroner’s Office said in a news release.
An autopsy was performed Monday.
“Preliminary autopsy reports showed multiple injuries due to a motorcycle mishap,” the coroner’s office said in the release.
Naperville police and firefighters were first called to the crash about 5:46 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 91st Street and Normantown Road, Naperville police said in a news release.
The crash involved a motorcycle with two riders and both of them were found in a field south of the intersection, police said.
One of the riders was hospitalized with apparent minor injuries while Morain suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. An initial investigation indicated that the motorcycle, a 2005 blue Yamaha, was traveling east on Hafenrichter Road at a high rate of speed, police said in their release.
“The motorcycle crossed over the train tracks where it lost control and left the roadway on the east side of Hafenrichter Road,” police said. “Both riders were ejected from the motorcycle during the crash.”
Because of the nature of the crash, traffic crash reconstruction specialists with the Naperville police traffic unit were called to investigate, police said.
Hafenrichter Road between 91st Street and Union Mill Drive was closed for the investigation. The roadway was reopened about 11:45 p.m. Saturday.
