Crest Hill police still searching for missing woman

Woman has been missing since June 12, reportedly seen at Joliet Motel 6, police said

Crest Hill police are still trying to find a woman who was last seen June 12 at the intersection of Theodore Street and Raynor Avenue.

Wendy Gessing, 50, was believed to be traveling a gray Honda CR-V, which police were able to find on Thursday, according to a Crest Hill police news release.

She was reportedly spotted on Wednesday at the Motel 6 at 1850 McDonough St. in Joliet, police said. Her last confirmed sighting was June 12 at the intersection of Theodore Street and Raynor Avenue.

Gessing is 5-foot-5, weighs about 130 pounds, and has brown eyes with blonde hair, police said. She also has a tattoo on her left forearm.

Anyone with information on Gessing’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Crest Hill Police Department at 815-741-5111.

Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark said he didn’t have any information to indicate Gessing’s disappearance was suspicious.

“We’re looking to find her and make sure she’s safe,” Clark said.
